For the most part there has been more rain in 2011 than there was in 1971.  However, the amount of rain was very similar overall and in 1971 there was more rain from July to September than in 2011.  When first glancing at the graph between the years it appears to be very similar with the amount of snow until reaching October.  For all of the months except February and December there was more snow in 2011 than in 1971.  In both 2011 and 1971 for the months of July and August there was no snow recorded.  The biggest difference in the amount of snow was in November with a difference of 361mm. Overall, there was more snow than there was rain for both years with an exception of June until September.
